The Tailgate Grill in Waynesboro

I ordered 3 grilled chicken salads and dropped one on my way to the car. A lady that works here said “go inside and have them fix you another one,” and smiled. I said no thank you because it was my fault. I took my ruined salad inside and asked for a trash can to throw it away. Again another worker offered to have another one made for me. I declined and admitted that it was my fault. Before I reached my car the worker came out and said “my manager is already making you a new one,” and smiled. They didn’t have to offer or make me a new one, it was my clumsiness that caused me to drop the salad. But they showed me some compassion and amazing customer service and I came home with the 3 salads I had ordered. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Tailgate!

This was my first visit. I had the double bacon cheese burger. It was delicious. The staff were very nice. Very good looking ladies. I will be going back

The food is superb, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend ordering the small french fry basket. Two hungry people would be fed very well with just this. The wait staff were also very pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend stopping here.

I am delighted to see how responsive the management at the Grill is to online reviews! I had posted a very negative one about 8 months ago and was so disappointed that I didn’t want to go back. Friends invited me recently and I took another chance. I was so pleased to have taken that chance! The waitstaff was extremely friendly and responsive, the burgers were excellent, as usual, the onion rings were even better than I remembered, the table was clean—everything was really good, including the atmosphere. They even upgraded their ketchup brand!I can highly recommend the Tailgate! Their BLTs are excellent, their onion rings are the best in town, their burgers are the best in town—everything I have ordered is excellent. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. At all. In fact, it’s so good that I wonder if my perceptions from before were just me having an off day. 😇

Great homemade food at reasonable prices! When ordering French Fries, a small will easily feed two people!!! The bacon cheeseburger is awesome. Toppings are always fresh and crisp. Great place to eat.

It really is a great burger. The large fries is freaking GINORMOUS. Go with a bacon double cheese and you won't be sorry.

Want ALL expectations exceeded? This is your place! My gawd it is sweet!!! This was our first visit. My wife wanted to try it based on reviews. We ordered double burgers because singles were only $3. Figured they couldn't be all that big. Whoa! Wow! These pups were wonderful! Fresh beef. So juicy. And big!. A single would have been fine. We tried to order large fries and onion rings. Our server said get the medium fries because the portions were huge. She was right! OMG this basket was a mountain of perfect shoe string fries. And the onion rings were hand crafted and again a generous serving. We left a ton of fries.So.....get your butt down here and get ready to be impressed. We are regulars as of right now.

The food is truly excellent and the service is seamless. The prices are just right and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Everyone really knows what they are doing and what they do, they do very well. My favorite is the fried shrimp which is amongst the best I have had, anywhere and I have been around. When I say the portions are huge I am not joking. If two of you are dining, split a small fries, do not go any larger. No normal appetite can deal with an order of fries, alone. The signature Tailgate sauce will have you singing merrily, on the trail of the lonesome pine, long after they close, which is never late.

Very very good food! Prices are crazy reasonable for the quality. They have multiyear awards for hamburgers but we went for cheesesteaks, HOLY COW. Even the roll was awesome. Good service, clean and modern rustic, lighted and airy place.

The best place to get a burger and fries in the valley! Tailgate is a causal, seat yourself burger place. Staff is always friendly and attentive. And food is always ready fairly quickly. Highly recommend!!

Tailgate Grill is a great lunch or dinner stop in Waynesboro. Fresh ground beef burgers, grilled chicken and many other sandwich combinations are available. The fries are hot and served while your sandwich or burger is being prepared. Great staff, excellent service and enjoy a beer with your burger. Table or counter service available.

Great flavor, huge servings, moderate prices. Discovered this place after a long hiking trip, stop by any time we are traveling through the area. Still add good add the first time when we were "hiker hungry"!

The food is so good. I always get the chicken philly (it's the bomb!), and a small fry.. That isnt so small so we usually end up splitting it between us. If you guys havent been there, you're missing out.. Amazing food, friendly staff, and more bang for your buck..And you gotta try the Tailgate Sauce.. BOMB.

Staff stared at us when we came in never addressed us and never bothered to clear the 4 empty tables. Several employees standing around flirting and taking their time sipping on sodas all while not working. Really I don't care if your food is good if you can't give customer service and take care of acknowledging customers or be bothered to clear the 4 empty tables. So disappointed! I don't recommend them at all! Google forced me to give a star to write this or otherwise they would have gotten no stars!

Randomly stopped on our way thru Waynesboro - SO GLAD WE DID!!! Food was superb, atmosphere relaxed, price was great, and staff pleasant and worked together like a well-oiled machine. MUST TRY if you’re ever in the area!

Amazing food friendly staff and beer!

This was hand down the best place I have had a sandwich anywhere around. The food was great and the serving sizes were large. I usually expect sizes to be pretty small and for the prices on the menu that is what I expected here but boy was I wrong. They were great sizes and I was nice a full after a sandwich and frys. The services was also pretty great. Most of the tables were full when we got there but we did not have to wait at all and the food was out with in a few minutes nice and hot. I would recommend this to anyone.

A mound of fries, crunchy bacon, cold beer... we usually have a great visit here. Service is decent and everyone works hard to make sure you have what you need.

One of the best home-made burgers I have in a awhile. Fresh. Handmade patties and NO premade burger. Will be back and thanks to all the ladies and their great customer service.
